THE FOUNDATION IN ACTION

2014-2015 PASSING NOTES MUSICAL INSTRUMENT RECIPIENT
BELPRE HIGH SCHOOL (Belpre, OH)
BILL VAN PELT- Director

In 2008 The Board of Education cut the Belpre High School marching band program due to a lack of student interest, however due to the efforts of WVU Graduate Bill Van Pelt the Golden Eagles are now in back in uniform and once again performing for the community.

The 2014-2015 Belpre High School Marching Band is comprised of about thirty students who have graciously accepted the challenge of making something out of nothing.

Van Pelt commented, "We've been practicing since August on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The main focus for the first few weeks was learning the music, then we began to work on the marching." Van Pelt added, "They have gone beyond my expectations of what I thought they would do and I am very proud of them."
